publication date: 2009
ISBN 978-1-57473-435-5 library binding, $190.00
This volume contains 13 papers presented at the 2008 HCSNet Workshop on Designing the Australian National Corpus (AusNC), which was held at the University of New South Wales as part of the annual HCSNet Summerfest from 4-5 December, 2009. This proceedings is now available on the web, and the printed edition will ship in early 2010.
The papers include a selection of those presented at that workshop, together with invited papers from selected participants. The first three serve as “platform” papers in terms of the conception and design of the AusNC. The next five papers focus on the diversity of language in Australia, and the implications for the design of the AusNC. Another four papers discuss the range of material, other than traditional texts and transcripts, which should be collected and included in the AusNC. The collection is rounded off by a paper on the advances in annotation associated with the American National Corpus.
Proceedings from Cascadilla Proceedings Project are published in library binding and on the web. We offer free web access to the complete proceedings in PDF format through our web site, www.lingref.com.
