This volume contains 23 papers selected from the 7th Generative Approaches to Second Language Acquisition Conference (GASLA 2004), which was held at Indiana University in Bloomington, April 15-18, 2004. Sessions addressed a range of empirical issues on L2 systems, including anaphoric relations, argument structure, ambiguity resolution in L2 sentence processing, L2 phonology and morphological acquisition, and acquisition of semantic and morphosyntactic properties. Topics discussed included the questions of the initial state of L2 acquisition, the nature of grammars acquired by adults, and differences and similarities between simultaneous and sequential bilingualism in children. These issues are reflected in the papers included in the proceedings.
