Cascadilla Press at the LSA

Cascadilla Press will have a booth at the book exhibit of the 2013 LSA in Boston, and we’d like to invite you to stop by!

All of our Cascadilla Proceedings Project titles will be on display and available for purchase at a special discount. We’ll also have our textbooks, software, games and teaching aids (including our newest IPA game), and a selection of our softcover proceedings. If you’d like us to bring anything in particular, let us know and we’ll do our best to have a copy on-hand.

For the young, the young at heart, and those who are looking for gifts, we’ll have a selection of items from our CafePress store, including our new line of vintage linguistics posters.

The 2013 LSA will be held January 3-6 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place. We hope to see you there!

Book exhibit at AFLA 18

Cascadilla Press will be displaying some of our books and teaching aids at the 18th Austronesian Formal Linguistics Association (AFLA 18) at Harvard University from March 4-6, 2011. We'll be there on Friday from 2:30-5:00 and on Saturday from 12:00-3:00, and we have a special surprise for conference registrants!

Book launch celebration at the LSA

In just over a week, we are publishing the second edition of Monica Macaulay’s popular Surviving Linguistics: A Guide for Graduate Students! We’ll have this fully updated second edition at the LSA meeting in Pittsburgh. Come by our exhibit booth any time during the conference, and on Saturday, January 8, swing by at 11:00 a.m. to meet the author and enjoy some chocolate truffles!

The LSA will be the first chance to see the second edition. If you won’t be at the LSA, you can order a copy now to be shipped on January 7.

We will be exhibiting all of our recent books, software, and teaching aids, including past BUCLD Proceedings. We will also have several items there from our CafePress shop, such as our IPA chart poster and bibs for baby linguists. The proceedings of BUCLD 35 will be published in 2011 by Cascadilla Press, and we offer a discount for advance orders.

Cascadilla Press will be displaying books at the 28th West Coast Conference on Formal Linguistics (WCCFL 28) at the University of Southern California from February 19-21, 2010. Book display at GASLA 10

GASLA 10 will be taking place at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on March 13-15, 2009. You’ll be able to look through the proceedings from the two previous GASLA conferences, GASLA 8 and GASLA 9, at the registration table. Because they were published through Cascadilla Proceedings Project, you can also read all of the papers from the proceedings on-line at www.lingref.com.

Book exhibit at the 2009 LSA Annual Meeting

Cascadilla Press will have a booth at the LSA Annual Meeting in San Francisco on January 8-11, 2009. The book exhibit will be open on Friday and Saturday during the day and on Sunday morning. We will be exhibiting our books, software, and teaching aids, including Surviving Linguistics: A Guide for Graduate Students and El español a través de la lingüística. We will also have copies of Magnetic Phonetics there, as well as several items from our CafePress shop such as baby gifts and bumper stickers. Cascadilla Press will be participating in the book exhibit at the 39th Meeting of the North East Linguistic Society (NELS 39) at Cornell University from November 7-9, 2008. We’ll be displaying our recent books in theoretical and applied linguistics, as well as Arboreal, our popular syntax tree font for Mac and Windows.

Cascadilla Press will have a book display at GALANA 3 at the University of Connecticut in Storrs on September 4-6, 2008. We will be exhibiting our recent books, software, and teaching aids, including the proceedings from GALANA 2. We will be selling books on Thursday and Saturday before and during the poster sessions.

Exhibit at ACAL 39

Cascadilla Press will exhibit several books at the 39th Annual Conference on African Linguistics (ACAL 39) at the University of Georgia, Athens, from April 17-20, 2008. We’ll have proceedings from ACAL 35, ACAL 36, and ACAL 37 on display, as well as some of our other linguistics titles. The proceedings from ACAL 38 will be published later in 2008, and the proceedings from ACAL 39 will be published in 2009. Advance orders are welcome.

Exhibit at LSRL 38

Cascadilla Press will exhibit several books at the 38th Linguistic Symposium on Romance Languages (LSRL 38) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from April 4-6, 2008. We’re showcasing some of our collection of textbooks and edited collections on Spanish linguistics, such as Robert Hammond’s textbook The Sounds of Spanish. Later this year we’ll be publishing two great new books on Spanish linguistics—details coming soon!

Exhibit at HEL-LEX 2

Cascadilla Press will exhibit several books at the second symposium on New Approaches in English Historical Lexis (HEL-LEX 2) in Lammi, Finland (north of Helsinki), from April 25-27, 2008. Among the books on display will be the Selected Proceedings of the 2005 Symposium on New Approaches in English Historical Lexis (HEL-LEX), which we published in 2006. We will publish the proceedings of HEL-LEX 2 in early 2009.
